Hampton man shot multiple times Saturday night, police say

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton police say a 61-year-old man was shot multiple times Saturday night.

A 911 call was received around 10 p.m. on Aug 4 of a shooting in the 2100 block of Kecoughtan Road.

Officers arrived on scene to find the man suffering from multiple gun shot wounds. Police say he was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered non-life threatening.

Police say that the suspect approached the victim outside and fired several shots in his direction. 

According to police, a preliminary investigation found the suspect and victim knew each other. The suspect is described by police as a black male in his mid 30’s and about 5’7″ tall.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
