GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) — What did the workers at Little Caesars in Gloucester say when they saw more than 300 linemen come into town to help with power restoration after Tropical Storm Michael?
According to a post on Tidewater Pie Little Caesars’ Facebook, employees rolled up their sleeves and fired up their ovens to treat the linemen in the best way they knew how.
Thousands of Dominion Energy customers were without power after the storm tore through the state Thursday night. The company said they had restored power to 80 percent of the customers affected on Saturday.
Gloucester was one of the hardest hit targets of the storm. On Sunday, more than 2,500 customers in the area were still waiting for their power to be restored, based on Dominion’s outage map.
The National Weather Service confirmed two of the seven tornadoes that happened in Virginia during the storm occurred in Gloucester. An EF0 tornado hit the southern part of Gloucester by Cuba Road and the second tornado, also an EF0, hit the northern part of Gloucester by Pampa Road.
