GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) — Part of Indian Road in Gloucester will be closed indefinitely due to a sinkhole in the road.

According to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, the sinkhole has made the road impassable near Zion Hill Church. The Virginia Department of Transportation has been made aware of the issue.

Deputies responded to a call about the sinkhole Tuesday morning. It’s unclear how long the closure is expected to last.
