NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — You can have some of the most authentic spanakopita and moussaka in Norfolk delivered right to your door.
The Norfolk Greek Festival, held May 16 through May 19 is the self-titled oldest and largest ethnic festival in the region and at the center of its cultural tribute is the traditional Greek cuisine.
At any given time during the four days of the festival you will find a line of people and a line of cars surrounding the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Granby Street, all waiting to get their hands on a delicious gyro.
The popularity of the food items led the festival organizers to create a drive-thru system in recent years — but now, they’re adding a delivery service.
That means this year, you can spend more time dancing the kalamatianos and have your food delivered to your home to enjoy later.
