VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Germany-based manufacturer of automotive equipment is investing a little over $1 million for upgrades in Virginia Beach.
Gov. Ralph Northam announced the investment Thursday, noting IMS Gear will be making upgrades to its cutting machine in the city. This move means the company will retrain 115 current employees.
IMS makes power seat gears for more than 70 percent of the automotive market in the U.S.
“IMS chose to stay and expand in Virginia Beach due to our location close to shipping routes, quality of life, and our established, solid workforce here,” said Guenter Weissenseel, president of IMS Gear Virginia.
