Franklin police investigating shooting

FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) — Police in Franklin are investigating a late night shooting that left one man injured.

Franklin police said officers found a victim shot on Bruce Street about 10:50 p.m. Tuesday.  

The man went to a hospital to treat the gunshot wound on his right leg.

Police said they were unable to get much information from the man, because he was intoxicated. Officers have not made any arrests in the shooting.

Police said officers were dispatched to the Bruce Street area for reports of multiple gunshots before getting word there was a gunshot victim. 

Officers checked the area, but did not find any victims or property damage. Residents in the area told officers they heard gunshots, police said.
