VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A former reality TV star of the show “Little Women, Atlanta” is facing more than a decade and a half in prison after being sentenced on Wednesday.
Virginia Beach police said Melissa Hancock was driving the wrong way on Interstate 264 in November 2017 when she collided head-on with a car being driven by Daniel Dill, a Coast Guardsman who was based in Portsmouth.
Daniel Dill was on his way to pick up his wife Natalie, who was out with friends celebrating her birthday.
That’s when Hancock left a bar drunk, drove the wrong way down Interstate 264 and hit Dill’s car head on.
“It’s been brutal,” said Dill’s father, Christopher Dill, Sr. “It’s been devastating to the entire family … “The heartbreak of missing Dan is never going to end.”
Hancock sobbed and told the court that she couldn’t believe what she did and that she’ll never be able to forgive herself.
“Not once did she say I’m sorry and that really bothered me,” said Dill’s wife, Natalie.
Hancock was born with dwarfism. “She had a .19 blood alcohol level when she got behind the wheel.
Dill’s family says as Hancock sits behind bars they will try to begin healing.
“For the last 11 months I haven’t had much control over my life,” Natalie Dill added. “I’m just now trying to now try to live my life again”
