Firefighters rescue entrapped victim from vehicle in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Chesapeake firefighters used chainsaws to free a victim who was trapped in a vehicle after they crashed near the High Rise Bridge on Saturday morning.  

Chesapeake fire crews assisted Virginia State Police with the accident on I-64 eastbound around 8:30 a.m. 

Fire officials say the trapped citizen was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries. 

State police have not released details on how the incident happened or if there are any pending charges.
