PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Portsmouth firefighters were called to the same home along Lake Shores Drive twice over a period of six hours.
Fire department officials said crews were initially called to the home just after 11 p.m. on Monday.
Officials posted on Facebook that the fire had started in the kitchen and quickly spread. No injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was contacted to help two residents who were displaced.
Officials said firefighters were called back out to the same house just before 5:15 a.m. Tuesday for a second fire. That fire was extinguished.
Fire officials shared images on Facebook Tuesday morning, which showed the home was severely charred by the fires.
The cause of the fires is under investigation.
