VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — An early-morning fire in Virginia Beach left two townhomes damaged and two families displaced.

Art Kohn, a spokesperson with Virginia Beach Fire Department, said units were called to the 1900 block of Abbotsbury Way around 4:30 a.m. for a residential fire.

The first crew on scene found a fire showing through the roof. Both townhomes suffered heavy fire and smoke damage, but no injuries were reported, Kohn said.

Investigators later determined the fire was accidental in nature, caused by an electrical issue.
