Fire significantly damages single-story home in JCC

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A fire significantly damaged a house in James City County Sunday afternoon, county officials say.

Crews with the James City County Fire Department arrived in the 100 block of Allyson Drive around 1:30 p.m. and found a fire at the front of the home. The fire was marked under control at 2:05 p.m.

Officials said the residents were home at the time of the fire and managed to get out safely. 

The home was sustained significant fire and smoke damage.

Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
