Fire and hazmat crews clean up oil spilled into water in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Norfolk fire officials responded to a hazmat situation Sunday morning in the Colonial Place section of the city.

Dispatch says they were notified at 10:06 a.m. for a spill in the area of Colley Avenue and 45th Street that smells like diesel fuel.

Dispatch tells 10 On Your Side the fire department is working to clean up the oil spilled into the water. 

Police have not released details on how this incident happened.
