Family of 5 displaced after Suffolk house fire on Catalpa Court

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A fire forced a family of five out of their Suffolk home on Monday.

The flames sparked on Catalpa Court around 11:30 a.m.

Firefighters sent a picture of the home — you can see the damage near the second-floor window.

Crews were able to keep the fire contained to one upstairs room, but the whole house has smoke damage.

Everyone got out safe.

The Red Cross is helping the two adults and 3 children displaced and the investigators are working on the case.
