Family of 5 displaced after Chesapeake home damaged in fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A family of five was displaced Tuesday morning after a home caught fire in the Camelot section of Chesapeake.

Officials with the Chesapeake Fire Department said crews were called to Spinners Way, just off George Washington Highway North, just before 10 a.m.

Responding firefighters found a fire in the kitchen that had a extended into the attic space. 

Officials said firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but the kitchen was heavily damaged. No injuries were reported.
