Family, friends to hold vigil for teen killed in Norfolk

News

Loved ones will honor a teen who was murdered inside a home, near Norfolk State University.

Police responded to a home on Corprew Avenue last week, and found 15-year-old Daemon Person dead inside.

Two juveniles face charges in connection to his death — One is charged with second-degree murder, and the other faces an accessory after the fact charge.

Police still haven’t said how the 15-year-old died, but neighbors say he was shot.

Person, a sophomore at Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk, ran track and was in the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC). People who knew him said he seemed like a good kid.

Thursday’s vigil is set to be held at 6 p.m.
