A police spokesperson says the man drove onto a median, hit a pedestrian crossing sign and a tree — which caused the truck to go airborne. The truck his a concrete wall, and the man was ejected through the windshield in the process.

Police say the man hit a tree and landed in someone’s pool deck.

Paramedics took the driver to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
