Driver ejected after tractor-trailer hauling peanuts overturns in Southampton Co.

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A tractor-trailer hauling peanuts overturned Thursday morning in Courtland, causing the driver to be ejected.

The Courtland Volunteer Fire Department posted on their Facebook page they were responding the accident. It happened in the 13000 block of Plank Road. 

A LifeEvac helicopter was called to the scene for the victim, officials say. 10 On Your Side is working to get information about the extent of the driver’s injuries. 

Officials said there was a small diesel fuel leak from the accident, but they were able to mitigate it.
