NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was injured late Wednesday morning after police say he was hit by a car in Norfolk.

Norfolk dispatch says police received a call about the incident just before 11 a.m. It happened at W. Little Creek Road and Newport Avenue — the same area where police say a man was hit by a car Tuesday evening and died.

Police say responding officers found a 66-year-old man the road. He was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 57-year-old woman who was driving the car told police she was turning from Newport Avenue to W. Little Creek Road when she hit the man — who was in the crosswalk.

Police say she was cited with failure to yield the right of way.
