Driver airlifted after vehicle hits tree in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after his pick-up truck ran off the road and struck a tree Tuesday evening. 

According to Suffolk police, emergency dispatchers were notified about the accident in the 3500 block of Carolina Road around 4 p.m. 

The man was driving a Toyota pick-up truck when it ran off the road and stuck a tree. He had to be extracted from the truck by Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews, according to police. 

Police say the man’s injuries are not considering life-threatening. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
