Dog dies after Norfolk house fire on Granby

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters say a dog died in an early morning house fire on Granby Street Friday morning.

Norfolk firefighters found the home in flames with the family standing outside around 1:45 a.m., according to Battallion Chief Harry Worney. They pulled two dogs from the fire, but one did not survive.

The three people that were living inside the home will need a new place to stay. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
