A fire that damaged a family’s home in the Western Branch area of Chesapeake was one of three blazes firefighters responded to on Wednesday. .
Firefighters were called to the 1700 block of Dock Landing Road just before 9 p.m.
The fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes, fire officials say, and the home’s occupants and their dog escaped unharmed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Not long after responding to the Dock Landing fire, firefighters were dispatched to another fire in the 900 block of Annette Street in South Norfolk. Firefighters were on scene at the time of publication.
Firefighters also tackled another blaze Wednesday afternoon on Hamilton Street. Investigators believe a grill on a balcony led to that fire, which displaced six people.
