(WAVY) — Derrick Nnadi, a three-year starter at Florida State, was selected with the 75th pick of the NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Nnadi was a standout defensive player at Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach.

In his time in Tallahassee, Nnadi had 165 tackles, eight sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

When asked about his NFL future on Thursday, Nnadi told the Sportswrap, “I’m not worried about where I get drafted, it’s a great honor, but I just want my foot in the door then I can show that I belong there.”

Nnadi was projected to be a fourth or fifth round selection, but Kansas City decided to take the defensive tackle in the third round.
