Damage reported after suspected tornado touches down in Mecklenburg County

MECKLENBURG COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A tornado touched down in Mecklenburg County at around 11:40 a.m. Monday morning, the National Weather Service reports. 

The NWS reported numerous trees down in the county — specifically along Westbound Highway — and that one family who lives on Daniels Road was trapped after a tree crashed into their home. 

The tornado reportedly touched down at 10:38 a.m.

Law enforcement also reported seeing a tornado, according to the NWS.
