PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Four people have now been shot in Portsmouth in just over 24 hours.
Portsmouth dispatchers have confirmed a man was found Tuesday night in the 90 block of Merrimac Drive with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to the hospital with injuries considered serious, police say.
Dispatchers received the call at 9:35 p.m., just less than an hour after getting a 911 call about a boy that was shot in the 1100 block of Virginia Avenue.
The boy is expected to be OK after being shot in the arm.
On Monday night, a man was found shot in the upper body on Virginia Avenue and another man walked into a hospital minutes later with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victims’ injuries are considered non life-threatening and police aren’t sure whether any of the shootings are related.
