Crews respond to fire at metal recycling business

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — Wednesday morning, firefighters responded to a report of several vehicles on fire at a metal recycling business in Toano.

A 9-1-1 caller stated that fire was coming from a pile of salvaged vehicles at the facility. After arriving at the 8900 block of Richmond Road, firefighters found heavy fire conditions involving vehicles that were waiting to be recycled.

An hour after that initial call, the fire was brought under control. No injuries or damage to report; fire marshals from James City County are investigating the incident.
