Crews battle fire at vacant home in Chesapeake Monday night

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Crews in Chesapeake battled a fire at a vacant home on Sir Galahad Drive in the Camelot neighborhood Monday night.

According to a news release from the Chesapeake Fire Dept., around 10:08 p.m. a citizen called 911 reporting that they saw a fire at a vacant home in the 1200 block of Sir Galahad Drive.

Firefighters arrived on the scene within six minutes of receiving the call and found smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single family home.

Crews worked quickly and were able to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The home was under renovation and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
