NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A man and woman are facing charges in separate jurisdictions in connection with the same incident.
Newport News police arrested 22-year-old Treshima Murphy after warrants were obtained on her for malicious wounding and assault. According to police, the arrest was made in reference to a domestic event that took place the afternoon of July 20.
A 20-year-old man reported to police that he and his girlfriend, Treshima Murphy, got into an argument, during which he broke up with her. They were driving at the time. When he got out of the car he says she hit him, causing him to land on the hood.
Murphy in return filed charges against Gregory Adams, Jr. in York County, stemming from the same incident.
Adams is facing charges of stalking, misdemeanor assault, destruction of property and strangle with result of injury.
They both have upcoming court dates.
