SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Congressman Donald McEachin had to abruptly postpone a town hall meeting Wednesday because he was in the hospital.
The Congressman had an operation and remains in the hospital. His office assures WAVY News 10 his colorectal cancer he beat has not returned — he does not have cancer — but will remain in a Richmond hospital for a few days.
His office released a statement that reads:
“Congressman McEachin was admitted to MCV on Sunday, August 26 and will be having surgery August 29. He will remain in the hospital in Richmond for a few days and will make a full, complete and prompt recovery. While the doctors anticipate a few weeks to recuperate, he looks forward to getting back out in the district and seeing constituents as soon as he can. Congressman McEachin would like to thank everyone for their well wishes.”
McEachin is up for re-election in the 4th District this November, and is running against Republican challenger Pastor Ryan McAdams.
