Coast Guard crew helped seize 5.5 tons of cocaine during deployment

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Dependable is back home in Hampton Roads following a two-month deployment in the eastern Pacific Ocean.

Coast Guards officials say the Dependable, and its crew of more than 75, helped authorities seize more than 5.5 tons of cocaine valued at $146 million. 

The crew members returned to Virginia Beach Thursday afternoon.
