WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Investigators are trying to find two suspects after an attempted armed robbery in Williamsburg left a clerk hurt.

According to dispatch the incident happened just after 10 p.m. on May 28 at a Sunoco Gas Station on Pocahontas Trail — not far from Busch Gardens.

Lt. Jeff Kerr, with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, told 10 On Your Side one of the suspects was armed with a small, semi-automatic handgun.

Kerr said the two suspects ran behind the store near the train tracks — toward Merrimac Trail. Virginia State Police K-9s helped in the search, but the suspects got away.

Kerr said a clerk at the gas station suffered minor injuries, and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
