Chesapeake police pursuit ends on foot in Suffolk

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A vehicle pursuit that began in Chesapeake ended on foot in Suffolk Friday afternoon.

According to Chesapeake police, an officer tried to stop a vehicle in the area of Taylor Road and Western Branch Road around noon.

After the driver refused to stop, the officer pursued the vehicle until it crashed on College Drive in Suffolk. Police say the driver left the vehicle and attempted to run away from police on foot.

Police say they were able to catch the driver after setting up a perimeter in the area. No one was injured in the incident. 

The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information on the charges or the identity of the suspect.
