Chesapeake police investigating two late-night shootings


CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Two people were injured in separate shootings Wednesday night in Chesapeake, according to police.

Police said officers responded to the first shooting on Linster Street just before 11 p.m. One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The second shooting happened about 11:50 p.m. on Faulk Street. A witness told officers three men in masks pulled up to the victim in a blue Nissan truck then got out of the truck and shot the victim.

By the time officers got to the scene, a witness took the victim to a hospital and the shooters had fled.

Officers have not named any of the victims shot or any suspects in the cases.

The shootings in Chesapeake happened after a man got shot in Newport News about an hour earlier and another person shot shot in Hampton Wednesday evening.

Investigators have not indicated any of the shootings are related.
