Chesapeake man killed in Norfolk’s first homicide of 2019


NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Police are investigating the city of Norfolk’s first homicide of the year after a Chesapeake man was found dead late Saturday night. 

Norfolk police said officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Ballentine Boulevard just before 11 p.m. for reported gunshots. Responding officers found 40-year-old Lorenzo Antwoine Roberts lying on the ground with several gunshot wounds.

Police said medics pronounced Antwoine dead at the scene.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting.
