Chesapeake library to reopen after SUV crash damaged building


Chesapeake, Va. (WAVY) — A library that was damaged after an SUV crashed into the building is set to reopen its doors this week.

Chesapeake city leaders say the South Norfolk Memorial Library is expected to reopen Wednesday at 10 a.m. Staff is going back to the building Monday to get it ready.

The library has been closed since a driver crashed into the library Oct. 26, according to police.

The collision caused damage to glass and at least one wall, but no one was hurt.
