NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Cases against three people accused in a fatal shooting are moving forward in Norfolk.

Court records show charges against Jeremy Harris, Thomas Nesmith, and Becca Banta  including second-degree murder were certified to a grand jury in a hearing on Tuesday.

The trio are charged in the death of Patrick M. Cochrane, of Suffolk, who was found shot inside of a parked car East Little Creek Road in March. It was later determined that Cochrane had been shot in the 7900 block of Orchid Avenue.

Harris and Banta were caught not long after the shooting, while Nesmith — a known member of the Crips gang — was arrested in April.

The grand jury is scheduled to meet Oct. 3.
