GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — A cable technician arrested last August for allegedly stealing from customers and then running them over is now facing two years in prison.
Christopher Gutman pleaded guilty to a grand larceny charge this week, and was found guilty for failure to stop in the event of an accident involving injury. He was sentenced to two years for both charges, but will serve the time concurrently.
Authorities said Gutman was working as a contracted Cox technician, and stole a ring from a Gloucester County home. A witness testified that Gutman hit two people and ran over the homeowner in a confrontation.
