HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — Bryant & Stratton College launched a new initiative on Thursday to help students on their Hampton and Virginia Beach campuses dress for success.

Gayle’s Closet is a campus initiative to help students and local residents get professional clothing.

Dress clothes are important for interviews, career fairs and at work to make a good impression.

The career closet initiative is named in honor of the late Gayle Cheeks-Harrell, a Virginia Beach native.

All of her career attire was donated to the career services department by her son. He says they asked him if they could name it after her since was a known advocate for education and professionalism.

Other companies followed the example and held fundraisers and donation drives to keep a fully-stocked closet, so men and women can look their best.
