Murder suspect in custody, Cumberland County woman still missing

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) – Authorities have arrested the murder suspect they believe to be linked in the case of a missing Cumberland County woman.

A Virginia State Police spokesperson was told that North Carolina authorities had George W. Knisley IV in custody.

Late Friday evening, North Carolina officials say Knisley threatened a woman at gunpoint and stole her car. The woman was not injured. He was brought into police custody after a brief car chase.

The Ashanti Alert  remains active for the disappearance of 43-year-old Amy Renee Fabian. She has brown eyes and brown hair. She is 5’8″ in height and weighs 124 pounds.

Knisley is being held on a first degree murder charge from Cumberland County while additional charges are still pending.
