CHESAPEAKE, Va (WAVY) — If you’re looking to “support” a good cause we have an “uplifting” event to tell you about.
Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s annual Bra-ha-ha is coming up this weekend, with a brand new event for all ages
Local artists, businesses and clubs design and decorate some pretty creative cups.
There’s a gala and auction where the winners will be announced and you can bid on things like grandstand tickets to next year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
It’s all happening on Tidewater Community College’s Chesapeake Campus from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday October 19.
All the money raised pays for mammograms for uninsured or underinsured women.
“We have people that come from all over, they come from Virginia Beach, they come from the Peninsula. There are a lot of women that this is the only way they’re getting their mammograms every year they depend on. The Bra-ha-ha funds to be able to get their mammograms,” said Meg Shrader, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s breast care navigator.
There is also a brand new event this year, a women’s health expo on Saturday the 20 at TCC’s student center from 9 a.m. -p.m.
This event will feature educational workshops, fitness classes, wellness screenings and access to women’s health care professionals as well as vendor tables.
