Bomb threat called into Portsmouth courthouse; all-clear given

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — An all-clear was issued two hours after someone called in a bomb threat at the Portsmouth courthouse Wednesday morning.

Lt. Col  Marvin Waters, Jr. with the Portsmouth Sheriff’s Office said the threat was called in just before 8:45 a.m. The building was evacuated as a result. People were allowed back in at 10:55 a.m.

The Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the source of the threat.
