Boat catches fire in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – Firefighters in Chesapeake responded to a boat fire at the Bruce Station Saturday afternoon. 

Dispatch received the call for the boat fire at 3:30 p.m. Officials say a man was preparing to take his family out on the boat when he went to start it, and it caught fire. 

The fire was under control quickly, according to officials. No injuries were reported. 

The fire did not spread to any other boats or structures.
