Arrest made in Norfolk homicide investigation, cause of death determined

Clinton Wayne Davis

Norfolk Police say they have arrested and charged 50-year-old Clinton Davis for the murder of 62-year-old Nancy Green.

On June 10, officers were advised that Davis may have harmed a family member or someone he knew.

Detectives found a listing for Green, who police say was known to Davis, and responded to her home on Grayson Street to check her well-being. Green was found dead in the home.

Green’s niece told 10 On Your Side that Davis was Green’s boyfriend.

It was determined that Green died from a stab wound to the neck. Davis was charged with second-degree murder, according to court records.

He is currently being held without bond in the Norfolk City Jail.

The Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office confirmed to 10 On Your Side that Davis was previously convicted in 2000 for the murder of his child’s mother.

He was sentenced to 14 years in prison back in 2000.
