HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — Two Amtrak trains headed to Hampton Roads were delayed for several hours on Sunday due to police activity near Fredericksburg.
Amtrak spokesperson Kimberly Woods said several Amtrak trains operating north and south of Richmond were temporarily suspended Sunday afternoon.
The railroad in the Fredericksburg area was shutdown because of police activity, which Woods said was not related to Amtrak or any crew or customers.
Woods said the shutdown happened around 4 p.m., and didn’t resume until about 7:30 p.m.
Train 99 headed to Williamsburg and Newport News, as well as Train 157 headed to Norfolk were both affected by the delay.
You can check an individual train’s schedule through Amtrak’s website.
