5 adults, infant displaced after early morning fire in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Six people have been displaced following an early morning apartment fire in Suffolk. 

Emergency communications received the call at 2:26 a.m. for the fire at the The Lofts at One Eleven apartment building in the 100 block of West Washington Street.

When firefighters made there way inside the apartment, they found a small fire in the kitchen area of one of the apartments. The fire was out upon arrival due to the sprinkler system activation and it was contained in the kitchen area. 

The residents were displaced due to the fire and water damage to the downstairs apartment. The American Red Cross are assisting them. 

There were no injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
