Dominion outage Portsmouth

UPDATE: As of 8:20 p.m., power had been restored for nearly all households.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — More than 4,000 households are without power Tuesday night in Portsmouth.

Dominion Energy says crews are assessing the damage and power is expected to be restored between 7-10 p.m. Tuesday evening. The cause of the outage is under investigation.

Portsmouth officials say the outage is also impacting multiple intersections and traffic signals. They remind drivers to treat non-working traffic signals as four-way stops.

Another major outage affecting nearly 3,500 households west of Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach has been fixed.
