4 shot on Pickering St. in Virginia Beach; 1 dead

UPDATE (4/9/18): Police have identified the man killed in Friday night’s shooting as 41-year-old Rakel Ramel Mason, of Norfolk.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — One person is dead and three are injured after a shooting Friday night in the Lake Edward neighborhood.

Officers found a male victim dead at the scene in the 5800 block of Pickering Street. Two others took themselves to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The fourth was injured, but refused treatment, according to police.

The call for the shooting came in at 9:51 p.m.

There’s no suspect information at this time.

Neighbors tell 10 On Your Side it was a house party that turned deadly.

They say a large group of people were partying inside and outside a home on Pickering Street.

One man says a drive-by shooting brought the party to a screeching halt. He says a car stopped, and the people in it started shooting  at people from the party, then sped off.

Several neighbors say they heard at least 10 gunshots go off.
