SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Three men from Newport News have been arrested in a rash of incidents in Suffolk that police say have included break-ins at homes and larcenies.

Suffolk police said in a news release there were 18 reported incidents in neighborhoods in downtown and in northern parts of the city between March 19 and March 20.

Police said an observant homeowner called 911 around 4 a.m. on March 20 after seeing several male suspects fleeing the area.

Responding officers found three suspects – 19-year-old Jaquan Khalif Nelson, 22-year-old Jason Alexander Jarrett and 23-year-old Jonathan Thomas Ruble – in possession of stolen property, police said.

Police charged all three with breaking and entering, grand larceny, grand larceny of a firearm and multiple counts of tampering with a motor vehicle in connection to the 18 reported incidents.
