VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A three-story home at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront was damaged in a fire Tuesday morning, officials say.
Jon McIvor, battalion chief with the Virginia Beach Fire Department, said someone walking along the beach called 911 just before 8:30 a.m. reporting smoke showing from a home in the 5700 block of Ocean Front Avenue.
McIvor said no one lives in the home, which was undergoing renovation. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes of arrival on scene.
An adjacent home was also damaged by the flames, but McIvor said it is still habitable and no residents were displaced. No residents or firefighters were injured.
