CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY)- City leaders will close the 22nd Street Bridge in Chesapeake starting at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Chesapeake Public Works says the bridge will be shut down to drivers and pedestrians.  The section of Seaboard Avenue underneath the bridge will also be closed while crews replace the bridge. Construction will cost more than $18 million dollars and take 18 months.
