CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The 2019 Chesapeake Jubilee features the popular attractions and activities families have grown to love over the years.
For those who love to ride, you have dozens to choose from thanks to Amusements of America, one of the nation’s premier carnival operators. Enjoy classics like the Wild Mouse and the Ferris wheel that provides a magical view of the Chesapeake City Park.
The little ones can head over to the Kids Korner, a free fun zone full of activities and games. There will be face painting, strolling musicians, jugglers, hands-on crafts. In addition, the Jubilee features displays and exhibits from community and non-profit groups, and our armed forces.
Live entertainment will be on two stages from Friday to Sunday, featuring local and national acts from bands to dance companies. On Saturday, watch the annual fireworks extravaganza by world famous Zambelli Fireworks.
There is no carnival without food. The Jubilee will feature dozens of vendors from funnel cakes, to fried Oreos, barbeque, and endless seafood. On Thursday, the Kiwanis Club will host their annual Shrimp Feast. The menu includes menu includes spiced shrimp, barbeqie, cole slaw, baked beans, hush puppies, beer, wine and more.
The Chesapeake Jubilee kicks off Thursday at 4:30 p.m. and ends Sunday at 6 p.m.. Here’s the full schedule:

Shrimp Feast: 4:30-7 p.m.
Amusements of America (only games and rides) 6 p.m.-10 p.m.
Friday, May 17
Games, rides, music & entertainment: 5 p.m.-10 p.m.
Saturday, May 18
Games, rides, music & entertainment: 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
Fireworks: 9 p.m.
Sunday, May 19
Games, rides, music & entertainment: noon-6 p.m.
A day pass is $3 for adults and children under 3 get in for free. Unlimited ride wristbands are $30 and individual tickets start at $1.25.
